The Black Dot Way

Community support is a great way to help others in the cities and towns where our employees work and live. Black Dot maintains a responsibility to help those who are less fortunate and contribute to the common good.

Throughout each year, Black Dot partners with several nationally established non-profit organizations as well as schools, local community organizations and small grass-roots charities. From volunteering to charitable giving, part of our commitment is to give back whenever we can. Explore the following sections to see how our employees are making a difference.

Giving Back

Both during and after work hours, Black Dot employees are actively involved with our communities. Support has been given to large charitable organizations such as the Boys Scouts of America, National Multiple Sclerosis Society as well as smaller nonprofits such as Families Forward, Joyful Foundation, Women’s Wardrobe and several others.

Every holiday season, Black Dot employees adopt several local families in financial crisis, providing holiday gifts for parents and children. Most of the gifts are donated by our employees.

Giving back is part of our culture and the benefits far exceed any cost. These acts of charity strengthen employee morale and build long-lasting friendships and memories. The overwhelming support of these programs among employees is remarkable.

Dots in Action

Currently, Black Dot supports Mary’s Shelter, a local charitable organization providing loving residential care and education for pregnant minors either homeless or otherwise in crisis.

Through fundraising events, personal donations and volunteering, Black Dot employees were able to transform two bedrooms and a bathroom through an extreme makeover tailored to each girl’s personal taste. In one day, employees were able to paint, refinish furniture and redecorate each room.

So far this year, Black Dot has raised over $1,500 dollars in support of Mary’s Shelter.

We started the day off with enthusiasm and lots of energy. By the afternoon we had much left to do and I started to wonder if we had bitten off more than we could chew. We finished that evening exhausted and aching. Upon realizing I had forgotten one of my tools, I returned to the house. As I approached the girl’s rooms I saw both girls on their beds crying. It was humbling to see the difference one small act of kindness had done for these courageous young girls.
